Tas. endemic. Occurs mostly on mudstone, uncommon on sandstone, dolerite and granite. Abundant in the south and south-east from sea level to c500m. |

Some forms are very ornamental with a graceful open crown and haing thin branches pendulous to ground level almost like a weeping willow. The leaves are silvery. Not suitable below powerlines. |
