Private Forests Tasmania are proud to be returning to FarmX 2026 as an exhibitor, sponsor and presenter of Carbon Forestry 101: carbon in agriculture.
Private Forests Tasmania's Carbon Forestry 101 workshop will be held from 9:30am until 10:15am.
Planting and managing trees is one of the most efficient ways to store carbon and harvesting trees results in long-term storage of carbon in wood products. Private Forests Tasmania’s Carbon Forestry 101: Carbon in agriculture steps through the science, methodologies and governance behind undertaking a carbon forestry project. At our workshop, you can expect a short presentation, an engaging panel featuring an academic, governance expert and landowner undertaking carbon projects and there will be plenty of time for any burning questions.
Participants will receive free resources which unpack the complex jargon of carbon forestry projects.
This workshop is designed to teach you something you don’t know about carbon, bust myths and correct misinformation and to help facilitate you asking questions and seeking answers from experts and people who have undertaken this type of work before.
The theme for FarmX 2026, Sustainability & Innovation Across Every Acre, reflects the shared challenge and opportunity facing agriculture today, how to build productive, resilient farms while caring for the land, resources, and communities that sustain them. As the industry continues to evolve, FarmX creates a space for practical conversations, innovative thinking, and real-world solutions that will help shape the future of farming.
