Countrywide Hydrogen is developing certified green hydrogen production and refuelling projects across Tasmania to create a Hydrogen HyWay ecosystem. With initial projects at Wesley Vale and Brighton/Bridgewater and two more to follow at Bell Bay and Western Junction, the company will embrace the main transport corridors in the state. The Tasmanian Government recently announced that Countrywide Hydrogen will be the sole recipient of its Green Hydrogen Price Reduction Scheme which will help our company to deliver hydrogen for transport and materials handling at a price equivalent to that of diesel. Transitioning road transport and materials handling to fuel cell offers energy and price security over imported fuels with the major bonus being quantifiable emissions reduction. Heavy transport is a key offtake target for us with hydrogen-powered fuel cell prime movers and rigid trucks being superior as zero-emissions vehicles offering no compromise on payload, fast 15-20 minute refuelling, long-distance capabilities, and diesel-like performance.
